Launch of the Digital Forensic Component Standards
The Society is pleased to announce the extension of its accreditation scheme to include two new Component Standards covering the digital forensic arena: Computer Network Evidence Recovery and Analysis and Digital Evidence Analysis Recovery and Preservation. These two new Standards plus the Core Standard of Interpretation, Evaluation and Presentation of Evidence (IEPE) make up the new Digital Component Standards.
These are appropriate for full three year (360 credits) undergraduate (BSc) and postgraduate courses (MSc, 180 credits) in digital forensics or similar titles.

How do I apply for accreditation?
Firstly check your course content against the relevant Component Standards, and especially the Core Component Standard of Interpretation, Evaluation & Presentation of Evidence (IEPE).
Secondly, if course content meets the Component Standards a matrix will need to be completed to indicate this to the satisfaction of the Society. To progress with arrangements for an accreditation application and visit please contact the Society office for further details by email accreditation@forensic-science-society.org.uk.
Upon receipt of the matrices the Society will provide a quotation for your consideration and then agree a date for the assessment panel to visit.
